ELECTRONIC ACCESS CONTROL
SAFETY THROUGH EFFICIENT AND MODERN TECHNOLOGY

Rapid digitalization, new legal frameworks – such as the EU GDPR – and increasingly flexible working (time) models: a mechanical locking system can no longer keep up with such increasingly complex requirements. Modern, secure and flexible locking now works digitally – ideally with a state-of-the-art access control system that is equipped with self-sufficient fitting systems (battery-operated electronic handle systems or cylinders). These make the complex cabling of access points unnecessary and save the operator considerable costs because they can also be used in existing buildings without any problems. Access authorizations for person, time and location (“who – when – where”) are determined centrally via a system platform and these are implemented at the access points using identification media (personally carried cards, transponders, key fobs) or biometric scans (finger, face). In this way, employees can only move in the areas of buildings or protected areas that are approved for them. Access authorizations can be limited in time (through expiry periods or set times) and the movements of those authorized can be logged via the access points.

Identification media are differentiated according to the type of function and application:

Active = contactless identification media, e.g. B. in the form of transponders, handheld transmitters, mobile phones that actively send coded signals to the locking system via radio or Bluetooth.

Passive = contact-based identification media, e.g. in the form of smart cards or key fobs, but also mobile phones, which are activated via RFID technology by a reader that reads coded signals from them.

Biometric = contactless scanning of specific body parts (hand, fingers, face) using intelligent sensors that compare their current scan results with already stored reference data.

How the access control system works:

If authorized, an actuator (drive element) is activated and the lock is released. The head office either makes this decision itself based on the available data (offline system) or forwards the request to a higher authority and receives a response from it (online system). Access control systems are usually controlled either centrally or decentrally, but mixed forms are also possible. With the central arrangement, all sensors (readers) and actuators (door openers, locks, etc.) are connected to the access control center, which is usually in a secure area, e.g. B. a technical room is housed.

The advantages of electronic access control:

  • significantly increased burglary protection
  • Access authorizations that can be adjusted at any time
  • Incoming inspections in real time or with a time delay
  • Expansion of the system without loss of time or limitations
  • coordinated visitor restrictions
  • Any number of access profiles can be defined
  • Display of the door status (Door Monitoring)
  • Possibility of protective functions such as AMOK or PANIC
  • Immediate blocking of identification media
  • Alarm in the event of manipulation of system components
  • Possibility of coupling to escape route security, fire alarm systems and time management
  • If an identification medium is lost, only this needs to be replaced; if a conventional key is lost, the entire locking system needs to be replaced

Electronic access control standards:

  • DIN EN 60839-11-1 VDE 0830-8-11-1:2013-12 Alarm systems Part 11-1: Electronic access control systems – requirements for systems and devices
  • DIN EN 60839-11-2 VDE 0830-8-11-2:2016-02 Alarm systems Part 11-2: Electronic access control systems – application rules

Get ready for the age of access control with facial recognition from Hikvision!
Hikvision is one of the world’s leading providers of Internet of Things solutions with video as a core competency. The company is listed on the stock exchange and employs more than 40,000 people, of which over 19,000 work in research and development. Hikvision is therefore able to develop groundbreaking solutions that meet the diversity of market requirements and individual customer needs.

Contactless access control systems with a temperature monitoring function are a particularly effective solution, especially in Corona times, as they maximize the protection of employees and visitors. Compared to conventional access control and time recording devices with fingerprints or RFID identification media, Hikvision’s MinMoe terminals with facial recognition enable quick, almost undisturbed passage through the access points. In addition, the terminal achieves 99% accuracy even in low-light environments thanks to a deep learning algorithm.
Equipped with two lenses – visible light and infrared – Minmoe facial recognition only grants access if both lenses image the same person, thereby verifying that the face is actually “present”. This anti-spoofing technology makes access control management much more secure and thwarts most attempts at unauthorized intrusion.
In addition to the lock function, MinMoe facial recognition terminals can be connected to network video recorders for data recording and storage, as well as to network cameras that clearly record a situation when preset events occur. Hikvision MinMoe products now offer a wealth of third-party interfaces that provide comprehensive compatibility with customers’ installed door control and attendance systems, allowing MinMoe terminals to be integrated quickly and cost-effectively.

As a Platinum Partner of Hikvision Germany, i.e. H. As an authorized company with the highest level of expertise, we exclusively offer you all access control options via facial recognition in Luxembourg.

The special features of Hikvision systems:

  • Face registration within 3 seconds and storage of up to 10,000 faces
  • Possibility of importing facial images in JPG format
  • Dual camera with infrared function, detects faces from a distance of 1 meter
  • Recognizes live human faces and distinguishes them from images and videos
  • Excellent performance in backlit, high light and low light environments
  • 99% detection rate and meeting international standards for False Acceptance Rates (FAR) and False Rejection Rates (FRR)
  • Supports authentication modes for face, fingerprint, RFID credentials, PIN password or a combination thereof
  • Connection options for external card/fingerprint reader to enable bi-directional access control
  • Advanced access control functions such as anti-passback (no re-entry without first exiting), linking and locking are adjustable
  • Possibility of time recording
  • Touchscreen user interface
